Description

Dactyliotheque consisting of one box. Contains casts of antique gems and glass pastes from various collections. - On the lid a label with reference to Tommaso Cades (in French).
Comes with a handwritten list of the gems and glass pastes.
On the outside of the lid a note with a handwritten note: "20 plaster casts of gems from the arch. Institute presumed".
The dactyliotheque library was commissioned by the Instituto and served as an "advertising sample" for potential buyers of the "Impronte Gemmarie". (AVS)

Stuc, tirées et choisies parmi le plus célébres pierres
gravées Anciennes et Moderne, qui existent dans les
principeaux Cabinets de l'Europe; le tout arrangé
par ordre chronologique, commercent par l'Ecole
Egyptienne jusqu' aux Graveurs des nos temps.
Ce même Artiste fabrique des Pâtes imitant
le pierres fines; il fait des Portraits en Cire U. C.
